Dear 6th Grade Families, 

I hope everyone is settling into the school year. I am looking forward to an educationally enriching and fun year ahead. The 6th Grade team has planned several wonderful activities and trips for our 6th grade students.

June 9th, 2026 - Dave and Buster’s Arcade - 10:00 - 1:00 (Cost: $33)

Youth Game Bytes Power Card includes 100 credits plus unlimited video game play (Students can add money to Power Card) Three hours of playtime. Lunch Included: Buffet with Flatbread, Garlic Butter Pretzel Sticks, Smashed Burger Sliders, Crispy Chicken Bites, French Fries, Fruit and unlimited soft drinks

June 18th, 2026 - Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island Tour - (Cost $75, optional meal voucher $23)

Admission on Statue Cruises to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Roundtrip transportation via deluxe lavatory equipped motor coach. For an additional $23, students can purchase a meal voucher that includes one entrée with fries (choice of burger, hot dog, chicken sandwich, or tenders) and one beverage. Students may also choose to bring their own lunch or receive a school-provided meal.

Approximate Cost for ALL Grade 6th Activities: $133

• All Payments may be paid by Cash or Money Order (made out to Russell Sage JHS 190) and placed in a sealed envelope with permission slip/s. Please indicate your child’s first and last name and class.  All students will receive a receipt after payment. You are welcome to do a payment plan each month with a suggestion of 30 a month if a student is doing all 3. 

NO PERSONAL CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED.  

• Please refer to due dates. These dates are hard deadlines. NO EXCEPTIONS - we need to order tickets and buses. Reminders will be sent out periodically

• All payments may be given to Ms. Buehre upon morning entry in lobby or in room 101.
• No payments will be accepted during the day or after school. A receipt for payment will be issued.  Please retain the receipt for your records. Any extra/unused funds will go towards activites for the Class of 2028. 
• Permission slips must be completed and signed when submitting payment. Copies will be available in Rm. 101

As a reminder, 6th grade activities are a privilege and not a right.  Students who have not complied with the Code of Conduct of the New York City Department of Education, Russell Sage JHS school rules, have not met academic standards by failing any coursework, have multiple class latenesses, and/or have excessive latenesses and/or absences, may be denied from 6th grade activities.
