Overview
Russell Sage Junior High School is a diverse collaborative school community dedicated to achieving academic excellence for all students. Through standards-driven instruction, a nurturing environment, and the development of civic and social skills necessary to function productively in the work, we will create a family of life-long learners.
Russell Sage Junior High School strives to meet the challenge of improving outcomes for all segments of the school population, including gifted and first quartile reading and math students, and English Language Learners (ELLs).
This is accomplished through the efforts of a highly motivated, well-trained, creative, collaborative teaching staff, bolstered by ongoing staff development, and partnerships with community-based organizations. In addition, students have access to state-of-the-art technology, as well as the infusion of the arts into all areas of instruction.
Mission Statement
The mission of Russell Sage JHS, in collaboration with students, families and the community, is to inspire and empower every student to be a life-long learner and problem solver, guided by the practice of inquiry. Further, we endeavor to foster an appreciation for the beauty and diversity in our world and prepare our students to face ethical challenges with respect to self and others. We strive to ready our students for high school, college, career and to serve the community in a positive and impactful manner.
