As we approach the finish line of your child’s Russell Sage JHS years, I want to wish you congratulations!

This is an exciting time for your family. I would like to share some important information with you:

GRADUATION - Friday, June 16, 2023 from 2-3:30 pm

To honor our students and their accomplishments, there will be an award ceremony and a graduation ceremony.

The graduation fee which includes three guest tickets, program, cap and gown with tassel, diploma case, yearbook

and senior t-shirt is $80.00 per student. Our graduation ceremony will be held in the Lou Carnesecca Arena at St.

John's University located at 8000 Utopia Parkway, Queens, NY 11439. Students should arrive at 1:00 pm and report

to the Little Theater next to Carnesecca Hall.. Guests should arrive between 1:15-1:45 pm. Do NOT bring balloons to

the ceremony. Any left over funds will be used towards senior events in June 2023.

SENIOR AWARD CEREMONY - Friday, June 2, 2023 at 9:00 am - By Invitation Only -

Our 8th grade award ceremony will be held in the Russell Sage Auditorium. Only students and families of those

receiving an award need be present for this ceremony.

SENIOR ACTIVITIES - OPTIONAL

As a reminder, Senior Activities are a privilege and not a right. Students who have not complied with the Code

of Conduct of the New York City Department of Education, Russell Sage JHS school rules, have not met academic

standards by failing any course work, are late to class or have excessive latenesses and/or absences, may be

denied from senior activities.

● PROM - Wednesday, June 7, 2023 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm

The cost of the prom is NOT included in the graduation fee. The prom is an optional event for 8th grade students.

The 8th grade prom will be held at Villa Russo, located at 101-12 Lefferts Boulevard, Richmond Hill, NY 11419. The

cost of this event is $55.00 per student. The price includes one ticket to the venue, buffet dinner, Viennese dessert

table, photo booth, DJ and decoration expenses. Parents are responsible for their child’s transportation to and

from Villa Russo. Teachers and administrators will supervise the prom. Any left over funds will be used towards

● SENIOR TRIP - Friday, May 19, 2023 from 7:00 am - 6:45 pm

The cost is NOT included in the graduation fee. The Senior Trip is also an optional event for 8th grade students.

The senior trip will be held at Six Flags Great Adventure Park rain or shine located in New Jersey (1 Six Flags

Boulevard, Jackson, NJ). The cost of the trip is $85 per student. Our trip includes admission to the park and a buffet

lunch consisting of hot dogs, chicken tenders, caesar salad, pasta salad, potato chips, ice cream novelties, and

fountain drinks. (Safari and Water rides are not included) Transportation via luxury coach bus will be provided by

Sage. We are leaving at 7:00 AM and plan to return by 6:45 PM. Parents are responsible for their child’s

transportation to and from Russell Sage. Teachers, parent chaperones, and administrators will supervise the trip.

If you are interested in chaperoning the senior trip, please email Ms. Meneses or Ms. Ebony. Any left over funds will

● All Payments may be paid by Cash, Money Order or Bank Checks ONLY (made out to Russell Sage JHS

190) and placed in a sealed envelope with your child’s name and class on it. You may use one money

order or bank check for all activities. NO PERSONAL CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED. All students will

receive a receipt after payment. All payments are due by WEDNESDAY MARCH 1, 2023.

● All payments may be given to A.P. Meneses in Rm. 207 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

mornings between 7:30 and 8:00 am beginning January 10, 2023. No payments will be accepted

during the day or after school. A receipt for the payment will be issued. Please retain the receipt for your

records.
